    I’m Amerah Pioquinto. I’m a secondary English Language Arts teacher at a very small town in the DFW area of Texas. I have been married to my quirky and supportive husband, Giovanny, for 4 years and we have a beautiful, energetic 6 month old baby girl, Isla, and two dogs, Milo and Django. As for qualifications, I am currently in my second year of teaching. I teach Honors English I, English III, Literary Genres, and Creative Writing.     Change of Plans

    How do I keep students engaged when reading a novel? That’s a tremendous task for any teacher, but especially a brand new high school teacher. Last year at the beginning of the spring semester in my first year teaching English III, we started reading My Antonia by Willa Cather. Started.
